About

I have spent more than thirty years building software for organizations of every size, from small startups to the Fortune 500, including systems that serve some of the largest employers in the nation. The work has run across regulated industries, public-facing consumer scale, and the unglamorous internal platforms that keep large operations moving.

Like most engineers now, I am trying to learn as much as possible about how AI is transforming software development as I once understood.

I enjoy writing. Sometimes.

I am the father of neurodivergent children, and I am neurodivergent myself. That is a plain fact about me. It happens to shape what I build under the Lion’s North studio, where the games are designed for neurodivergent players first.

Off the clock

I am drawn to the cold. I have no logical explanation for that. Forests in winter, snow and ice, the silence after a hard freeze... I fish only when I have drilled through ice and it's sub zero temperature.
